CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has devised Rs.25-crore plan for preventing floods in Kaithal district, said State Public Works (Building and Roads) and Public Health Engineering Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala on Tuesday.

He said the capacity of ‘Patiala Nadi' in Haryana region would be enhanced and an additional siphon would be constructed on the Hansi-Butana link canal.

The Kaithal Ring Dam and the drain banks in the region would also be strengthened and it would be ensured that the Ghaggar river water does not enter the Hansi-Butana link canal.
