'Aakrosh Rally' at Loharu in Distt. Bhiwani, Haryana
Anti-farmer and anti-poor face of BJP once again got exposed with the recent arbitrary hike in the price of Diesel, non-grant of any drought relief, non enhancement of 'Minimum Support Price' for Wheat and other crops, reduction of budgetary allocation for Rural Development in 2003 Budget, reduction of duty/import tariffs on import of agricultural products and failure to grant effective protection to agriculture sector in general, which is facing an existential crisis.
Hon'ble Congress President, Smt. Sonia Gandhi has effectively taken up this cause inside and outside Parliament on numerous occasions. In the same series, Youth Congress held a massive 'Aakrosh Rally' at Loharu in Distt. Bhiwani on the Haryana-Rajasthan border on 6th March, 2003. We gave a call to wage a People's movement against repeated hike in the prices of agricultural inputs and patent indifference of BJP led central government and their allies in the states to the alarming conditions of abject poverty and absolute penury of farmers all around.
Besides IYC President, Mr. Randeep Singh Surjewala, Ch. Balram Jakhar, President of All India Kisan Congress and a number of leaders of the party addressed the rally.
