Commencement of first private rural university of Haryana outside National Capital Region (NCR) in Kaithal.
Kaithal MLA & Cabinet Minister, Randeep Singh Surjewala envisions that ‘Education is the key to development of human resource’. He says that ‘Education is a harbinger of enlightenment, a bridge to new vistas of knowledge and a highway to societal upliftment’.
With this aim, Haryana Government has issued a statutory amendment to the Haryana Private Universities Act, 2006, thereby permitting ‘NIILM Education Trust’ to establish a private university over 20 acres of land on Kaithal-Ambala National Highway-65 near Village Keorak under the name & style of ‘NIILM University’. A five decades old demand of people of Kaithal and dream of Ch. Shamsher Singh Surjewala to set up a university in Kaithal, thus, stands accomplished.
NIILM University aims to fulfill higher education needs of this entire area as also to bridge the gap between ‘the Needed and the Provided’. NIILM University has launched a broad spectrum of innovative courses at Graduate and Post-graduate levels in several emerging disciplines like ‘Management (Logistic Management, Office Management and Supply Chain Management), Bio-Technology (Molecular Biology and Bio-Informatics etc.), Engineering (Mobile Communication Technology and Commerce), Media (Corporate Communication & Journalism), Fashion (Fashion Marketing & Apparel Merchandising), Hospitality & Tourism etc.
