Sewage Pipeline
Since 15th August, 1947 upto February, 2005; total length of sewerage pipeline in Kaithal City was 16 Kilometre. Since Ist March, 2005, 483655 feet (147.45 Kilometres) of new sewerage pipeline has been laid at a cost of Rs.2,495.07 lakh.
First Sewage Treatment Plant (STP)
Kaithal City's first Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) with capacity of 10 MLD (100 lakh litres per day) has been constructed and operation commenced in Balkuwali Gamri on Babaladana Road at Kaithal at a cost of Rs.685 lakh. For this purpose, 33 acres of land of Village Patti Khot had been taken at a cost of Rs.300 lakh.
Second and Third Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) on Jind Road, Kaithal and Kaithal-Manas Road.
Kaithal City's Second and Third Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) with capacity of 10 MLD (100 lakh litres per day) each i.e. a total of 20 MLD (200 lakh litres per day) have been completed and are in operation. Their cost is Rs.2,354 lakh. These STPs have been dedicated to people by Haryana Chief Minister, Shri Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Kaithal MLA & Cabinet Minister, Randeep Singh Surjewala on 30-09-2012. These STPs are based on Sequential Batch Reactor Technology and are the first in North India based on this modern technique.

Fourth Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) of HUDA.
Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has acquired 35 acres of land on Khurana Road along Kaithal Drain for construction of a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) with a capacity of 7.5 MLD (75 lakh litres per day). Total cost of setting up of this STP is approximately Rs.900 lakh. Foundation stone for this STP was laid by Kaithal MLA & Cabinet Minister, Randeep Singh Surjewala on 24-04-2011 and the project is likely to be completed in 2013.
With this, sewage of Sector 19 Part-I and Part-II, Sector-20 and the two new HUDA sectors of Kaithal would be fully treated solving one of the major polluting irritant of Kaithal City as HUDA is presently discharging its sewage in open areas in absence of proper sewage treatment facilities.

Manas Drain
Kaithal City's oldest and principal problem of 'Manas Drain' passing from HUDA, Dhand Road etc. stands resolved. A project is presently being undertaken for cement lining of Manas Drain alongwith closing the same with a cement lanter at a cost of Rs.650 lakh.

Storm Water Drains
Since Ist March, 2005, new Storm Water Drains with a length of 8 Kilometres have been constructed at a cost of Rs.145 lakh.
