Chetna Rally - Ramlila Grounds, Gurgaon

Politico - Criminal nexus has reached its nadir in Haryana. Dreaded criminals and proclaimed offenders openly move about and attend public functions with Shri Om Prakash Chautala and his sons. A series of political murders have marred the political scenario. Subjugation of dalits and backward classes by Chautala's henchman is a regular affair. Latest is the lynching of five dalits in Jhajjar, Haryana.

To expose this nexus, Youth Congress held a 'Chetna Rally' at Ramlila Grounds, Gurgaon on 19th October, 2002. We pointed out the successive brutal attack by Chautala Governement on various sections - from killing innocent farmers in police firing at Kandela, Jind; lathicharging and arresting consumers in all parts of the state protesting against defective electricity meters as also arbitrary house tax hike and terrorizing dalits and other weaker sections. Thousands of Youth activists vowed to fight the atrocities of Chautala government to the finish.

Besides IYC President Mr. Randeep Singh Surjewala, Shri Mukul Wasnik, General Secretary, AICC; Ms. Sushila Tiria, Secretary, AICC and others addressed the enthusiastic gathering.
