ECONOMIC STIMULUS PACKAGE – TRUE CREATION OF INFRASTRUCTURE IN SMALLEST OF TOWNS.
In February, 2009; Government approved a special Economic Stimulus Package in various infrastructure sectors including drinking water and sanitation. This package included 100% coverage of water supply and sewerage facilities in 14 towns of Haryana, namely Ambala City, Bhiwani, CharkhiDadri, Fatehabad, Hansi, Assandh, Kalayat, Mahendergarh, Narnaul, Kaithal, Ellenabad, Sirsa, Tohana and Uchana.
A High Powered Committee headed by Principal Secretary to Chief Minister has approved the upgradation of water supply and sewerage system in above 14 towns at a cost of Rs.959.20 crore as given below:-
