'Jan Chetna Rally', Ganga Nagar, Rajasthan
Part of Bikaner Division, Ganga Nagar runs along Indo-Pak Broder and is one the most prominent agricultural belts of the state. Recent border build up of BJP government and its subsequent fiasco of withdrawal of forces as also the unprecedented hike in the Prices of agricultural inputs like Diesel, Kerosene oil, Fertilizers, Seeds and Pesticides have effected the farmers the most in this area.
Youth Congress held another massive 'Jan Chetna Rally' at Ganga Nagar Rajasthan on 7th April 2003. Terming the fight as one between an elitist BJP and a pro-poor Congress, we asked the people to rise up to foil the nefarious designs of BJP, who have unashamedly compromised 'National Security' and bartered away the interests of the Youth and Farming Community in their insatiable lust for power. Asking the people to compare the policies, intentions and that our actions speak louder then words - be it the construction of 'Indira Gandhi Canal' (life line of the state), construction of 'Ganga canal' at a cost of Rs. 436 crores project by Hon'ble Smt. Sonia Gandhi to augment and improve the total canal infrastructure in the state.
Once again, Senior leaders including Smt. Ambika Soni, General Secretary, AICC; Sh. Ashoke Gehlot, Chief Minister; Smt. Girija Vyas, PCC Chief and all senior ministers and MLA's graced the rally and inspired the Youth Congress to work harder in service of the masses besides taking on the propaganda of BJP's organizations blow by blow.
