‘Jan Chetna Rally’, Pilani, Distt. Jhunjunu, Rajasthan
Youth Congress gave a clarion call to Youth and Farmers to demand accountability and answers from Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the center as also its leaders for their utter failure in creating 1 crore promised jobs per year as also systematic ruin of agricultural economy of the country in massive ‘Jan Chetna Rally’ held at Pilani, Distt. Jhunjunu, Rajasthan on 12th September, 2003. A sea of humanity i.e. students, youth, farmers and the poor converged at Pilani to participate in the rally.
We particularly pointed out the indiscriminate rise in prices of all agricultural and related inputs like Diesel, Fertilizers, Kerosene Oil, Pesticides, Cooking Gas, Petrol and other basic commodities as against a designed crumbling of the ‘Minimum Support Price Structure’ during BJP regime. Moreover, inefficacy and indifference of Prime Minister and his government to the worst ever drought in the state has now become legendary, we also pointed. On the contrary, Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Hon’ble Congress President aided by the Chief Minister and the whole party apparatus made the fight against drought a personal mission and overcame it successfully.
Besides the IYC President, Sh. Randeep Singh Surjewala and PYC Chief, Sh. Shravan Kumar, local Congress M.L.A and party functionaries addressed the rally.
