Lalkar Rally outside Parliament
In order to expose the naked malfeasance of public money leading to duping of 2 crore small investors as also to highlight the unchecked and unhindered massacre of innocent people belonging to minority Hindu Community in Jammu and Kashmir with Central and State Governments being mere mute spectators, Indian Youth Congress has launched a countrywide agitational programme.
On 13th August 2001, a massive 'Lalkar Rally' was held outside Parliament. Thousand of youth activists assembled outside Parliament demanding immediate arrest of Finance Minister Shri Yashwant Sinha; Shri Ranjan Bhattacharya (P.M.'s son-in-law) and senior officials of Prime Minister's Office and Finance Ministry. We also demanded that the Joint Parliamentary Committee (J.P.C) should question Prime Minister.
Besides IYC President, Sh. Randeep Singh Surjewala, rally was addressed by senior Congress leaders including Smt. Ambika Soni, Smt. Mohsina Kidwai and Shri Oscar Fernandes, General Secretaries, AICC; Shri Motilal Vora, Treasurer, AICC; Shri Ahmed Patel, Member, CWC; Shri Anil Shastri, Secretary, AICC and in charge Youth Congress.
