Massive Demonstration Outside Parliament Against Unemployment

Led by Indian Youth Congress, over 50,000 activists of the Indian Youth Congress held a massive demonstration before Parliament House and courted arrest on 2nd May, 2000 to protest against the growing pricerise and unemployment due to the faulty economic policies being pursued by the BJP lead NDA Government.

After courting arrest, a Memorandum was submitted to the Prime Minister's Office, which was based on the speech delivered by the Hon'ble Congress President, Smt. Sonia Gandhi in Parliament.

Senior leaders Shri Madhavrao Scindia, Hon'ble Dy. Leader of the Opposition, Shri Ahmed Patel, Hon'ble Treasurer, AICC and In charge, Frontal Organisations, Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad, Hon'ble General Secretary, AICC; Shri Oscar Fernandes, Hon'ble General Secretary, AICC and others were kind enough to address the enthusiastic Youth Congress workers.
