Massive Demonstration at Banda, Uttar Pradesh

In IYC's ongoing battle to expose the misdeeds of BJP Govt. in Uttar Pradesh, Indian Youth Congress held a massive demonstration at Banda on 10th September, 2000 to espouse the demands of the area. Led by IYC President, Mr. Randeep Singh Surjewala submitted a 21 point 'Demand Charter' for the area including for completion of Kane water project, Non-availability of an irrigation system or govt. sponsored borewells schemes, completely erratic power supply conditions, complete absence of any industry in Banda - Chitrakoot region and absence of even an iota of development despite the religious significance of Chitrakoot region and considering that BJP sowed the seeds of religious fanaticism in this area at the beginning.
