Massive Tractor Rally at Jind, Haryana

Challenging the might of Chautala govt.’s dictatorial anti-farmer policies and demanding cancellation of 25th September celebrations of Devilal’s Anniversary in view of pitiable conditions of agriculture economy of the state, thousands of youth activists took out a procession of over two thousand tractors, bullock carts, jeeps, four wheelers etc. and on foot through the city of Jind on September 21st, 2002 – the place from which Devilal had started his ‘Nyaya Yudh’ supposedly for farmer’s interests.

Led by IYC, President, Shri Randeep Singh Surjewala, youth activists marched to the court premises and submitted a ‘Memorandum of Demands’ addressed to the Governor of Haryana demanding dismissal of Chautala led Lok Dal government for failure to provide succour for back breaking drought, annihilation of interests of farming community, criminalisation of political fabric of the state with a spate of political murders with the backing of Chief Minister and his sons, abolition of jobs and disbanding of half a dozen boards/corporations and rampant loot by Om Prakash Chautala and his sons.
