'Padyatra' Ranchi, Jharkand

Jharkand in one of the three BJP ruled states, which is going to polls next year. Yawning instability, rampant corruption, complete mal - administration and utter chaos have marked the BJP rule in this newly carved out state with largest reserves of natural resources in the country. State of anarchy can be gauged from the fact that writ of government has ceased to run even in the outskirts of capital Ranchi with naxalites and criminals running a parallel administration, collecting taxes and dispensing justice.

We at Youth Congress, have completed first phase of our 'Padyatra' from Shaheed Bisra Munda's Samadhi at Ranchi to Bokaro from 23rd May to 29th May, 2003 to highlight aforesaid issues. I was personally with the Padyatra for 23rd and 24th May 2003. Spontaneous response received by the Padyatra from villagers, small hamlets and people of small town overwhelmed all of us. Almost all senior state Congress leaders including PCC Working President, Shri Pradeep Balmuchu joined the padyatra.
