Rakkar Punia Rally, Baba Bakala, Amritsar Dist, Punjab

Indian Youth Congress held a massive rally on 15th August 2000 at Baba Bakala, District Amritsar, Punjab on the occasion of "RAKKAR PUNIA". This was a parallel rally to that held by ruling Akali Dal (Badal) at the same time and at the same venue. Infact, the massive turnout at our rally and then complete lack of enthusiasm for Akali Dal (Badal) programme dissuaded the Chief Minister, Sardar Prakash Singh Badal from visiting Baba Bakala and he returned to Chandigarh from Amritsar Airport itself.

Besides IYC President, Mr. Randeep Singh Surjewala; Shri Moti lal Vora, Treasurer, AICC, Capt. Amrinder Singh, PCC President, Ch. Jagjit Singh, CLP leader and a large number of legislators and former ministers also addressed the gathering.
