‘Yuva Chetna Rallies’ at Baran and Churu, Rajasthan

Continuing our initiative to take the electoral battle in Rajasthan to the traditional rural areas, Youth Congress held two ‘Yuva Chetna Rallies’ on 7th October and 10th October, 2003 at Baran and Churu respectively.

Thousands, including Women-Youth-Poor, converged at our rallies to express solidarity and support. Terming the electoral battle as one between the ‘Palace’ and ‘Poor’ of Rajasthan, we pointed out that Congress represents the large majority of poor peasants, farm workers, downtrodden sections and small shopkeepers. We drew comparisons between the indifferent attitude of BJP leadership during four years of drought as against effective drought management by Congress government and supervised by none other then Smt. Sonia Gandhi herself.

Besides the IYC President, Randeep Singh Surjewala and PYC Chief, a number of legislators and senior Congress leaders addressed the rallies.
