‘Yuva Chetna Rally’ at Sikar, Rajasthan

Our persistent campaign of unmasking the anti-farmer, anti-youth face of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee led BJP Government took us to the predominantly agricultural belt of Sikar, Rajasthan. Youth Congress held a massive ‘Yuva Chetna Rally’ at Sikar on 18th August, 2003. Over 15,000 strong youth, farmers, farm labourers and even women attending the rally overwhelmed us by their enthusiasm and energy.

We pointed out the conspiratorial anti-agriculture agenda of NDA Government reflected in increase in price of Diesel (from Rs.8.50 per liter in Congress regime to Rs.20.50 per liter presently), Kerosene oil (from Rs.2 per liter in Congress regime to Rs. 10 per liter presently), fertilizers (DAP and Urea), pesticides etc. On the other hand, minimum price support structure is being sought to be demolished. Asking the people to judge for themselves, we exhorted them to give a befitting reply to BJP in the coming Assembly elections in Rajasthan.

Besides the IYC President, Sh. Randeep Singh Surjewala and PYC Chief, Rally was addressed by Shri Balram Jakhar, President of All India Kisan Congress; Shri Paras Ram Mordia, Home Minister; Shri Mahadev Singh, MLA; DCC President and other senior leaders of the area.
