‘Yuva Chetna Rally’ at Tonque

Continuing our ‘Oust BJP-Oust Communalism’ campaign, Youth Congress held a ‘Yuva Chetna Rally’ at Tonque on 11th Sept. 2003.

Thousands converged at Tonque to vow to fight the multi-pronged attack of BJP on the edifice ‘National Security’, ‘Secularism’ and the very ‘Territorial-Political-Social Integrity of the Nation’ as a whole. We pointed out that weak-kneed response of BJP to the brazen intrusion by Pakistani Forces in Kargil; unchecked infiltration of terrorists from across the J&K Border resulting into mass killings of the innocents, particularly Amaranth Yatris, families of Army Personnel and innocent citizens in J&K; daring terrorist attack on Red Fort and Indian Parliament; cruel murder of Indian Army men by Bangaladeshi Army and State sponsored riots across the National spectrum with Gujarat being the central stage of this dividing psyche. We urged upon the people to question the BJP about its capacity to govern and commitment to the very idea and ideology of India as a country.

Besides the IYC President, Sh. Randeep Singh Surjewla and PYC Chief, a number of senior Congress leaders including Shri Baniwari lal Bairwa, Deputy Chief Minister; Dr. Chander Bhan, Minister; Smt. Jakia Imam, MLA; and DCC President Shri Atma Ram Goel addressed the rally.
