‘Yuva Chetna Rally’ at the agriculturally rich Bhadra, Distt. Hanumangarh

Continuing our sustained campaign of exposing the anti-farmer, anti-poor and anti-youth face of BJP, we organized another massive ‘Yuva Chetna Rally’ at the agriculturally rich Bhadra, Distt. Hanumangarh on 11th August 2003. Overwhelming response to the rally turned it into a festive occasion with over 15,000 persons attending the rally and Bhadra town itself overflowing at its seems.

Pointing out complete apathy of the BJP towards Rajasthan and the worst drought it faced, we drew sharp comparisons between the negligently indifferent attitude of the Prime Minister, Sh. A.B. Vajpayee and the Dy. Prime Minister, Sh. L.K. Advani on one hand in providing drought relief or even visiting the state to share the agony of farmers and poor as compared to the sustained personal mission of your goodself as well as repeated visits by you to the drought effected areas, overseeing relief works and issuing instructions to the state government. We particularly highlighted the outstanding ‘drought management’, production of over 1,000 megawatts of electricity, starting of ‘Gang Nahar Reconstruction Scheme’, completion of ‘Sindmukh Canal Project’ and its distributaries, Opening of a University in Bikaner, setting up an extensive network of roads and creating jobs through ‘Rajiv Gandhi Pathshalas’ as well through drought relief works by Congress Government of Sh. Ashok Gehlot. An elaborate pamphlet highlighting various achievements of the government was also distributed by the Youth Congress at the rally.

Besides the IYC Chief, Sh. Randeep Singh Surjewala and PYC Chief, Sh. Radhey Shyam, Minister; Sh. Sanjiv Beniwal, young Congress M.L.A of Bhadra and Convenor of the Rally, S. Harcharan Singh, M.L.A and a number of leaders of the area addressed the rally.
