Yuva Garjana Rally

Over thirty thousand enthusiastic youth activists converged at Indian Parliament on 22nd July, 2002 for "YUVA GARJANA RALLY" organized to protest against criminal apathy of BJP led NDA Government to:-

1. Declare the nation-wide drought as 'National Calamity' and providing comprehensive compensatory package;
   
2. Failure of 'Agricultural Costs and Prices Commission' to fix remunerative prices of agricultural produce taking into account the increased costs of inputs like Diesel, Fertilizers, Seeds, Pesticides etc.;
   
3. Making 'Minimum Support Price' mechanism illusory by cutting budgetary allocation and targets for procurement of Agriculture produce;
4. Incapacity to check unabashed and unchecked unemployment particularly symbolized by abject failure in meeting the employment targets of 9th Five Year Plan (1997-2002).

Our Youth activists vowed to carry the agitation on aforesaid issues to the grass-roots.

Along with Shri. Randeep Singh Surjewala, senior Congress leaders including Sh. Mukul Wasnik, General Secretary, AICC; Shri Shivraj Patil, Dy. Leader of Opposition, Lok-Sabha; Sh. Ajit Jogi, Chief Minister, Chattisgarh; Ch. Balram Jakhar, President, Kisan and Khet Mazdoor Congress; Ms. Sushila Tiria, Secretary, AICC; Sh. Chandan Bagchi, Secretary, AICC and a host of other leaders addressed the rally.
