‘Yuva Jan Andolan Rally’ at Janjgir, Chattisgarh
Youth Congress has launched its election initiative in Chattisgarh from the interior tribal belt of the state. Youth Congress held its first ‘Yuva Jan Andolan Rally’ at Janjgir, Chattisgarh on 2nd October 2003 – anniversary of Father of the Nation – Mahatama Gandhi.
Thousands of enthusiastic youth turned up in their traditional attires to the beat of drums. We particularly highlighted the ‘Developmental Mapping’ of the state by Congress government – setting up of 23 new agricultural colleges as against existing one college, setting up of 18 new universities, construction of nearly 13,361 Kilometers of new roads in the state increasing the budget for raod construction from 90 crores to 1758.50 crores, giving employment to 12 lakh people per day by paying nearly six crore of rupees daily and the promise of the government exchange uptill 1st November, 2003, once the Congress Government is voted back to power.
Besides the IYC President, Sh. Randeep Singh Surjewala and PYC Chief, Sh. Ajit Jogi, Chief Minister; Sh. Mahant Charan Dass, M.P and senior tribal leader; Sh. Tuleshwar Singh Minister and a number of MLA’s and party functionaries addressed the rally.
