POLICY FOR COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT OF AIRPORTS IN HARYANA
Standing Policy Framing Committee on Civil Aviation is actively considering the issue of setting up of MRO Hub as also setting up of cargo/commercial airports in Haryana.
An ‘Expression of Interest’ was also issued for commercial development of airports in Haryana including providing night landing facility and modern equipments on ‘BOT’ basis for Hisar Civil Airstrip. In response thereto, a number of proposals have been received, which are under active consideration.
Proposal for setting up of an International airport at Asauda in Bahadurgarh, District Jhajjar has already been taken up with Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India seeking waiving of condition barring another International airport within a radius of 150 KMs of ‘Indira Gandhi International Airport’, New Delhi. This issue is presently pending with a Cabinet Committee of Government of India.
New vistas are being explored for setting up of an ‘MRO Hub’ as also a Maintenance and Parking Hub in light of the growing congestion at ‘Indira Gandhi International Airport’, New Delhi.
