HARYANA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY - NEW VISTAS, NEW LOOK

Legislative Assemblies of States of Punjab and Haryana are housed in one complex.

Since the division of States on 1st November, 1966; Assembly of Haryana had not been renovated. To bring the infrastructure and facilities in sync with modern times, entire complex of the Assembly Secretariat, amenities, library and Assembly Hall has been refurbished. Primary ‘mantra’ being – ‘New Vistas & New Look’.

This one year long major structural and technological renovation has been done at a cost of Rs.7,06,93,362/-. This entire initiative has been backed by Chief Minister, Ch. Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

This new initiative has led to following changes:-
(i) Entire Vidhan Sabha Complex has been centrally air-conditioned.

(ii) A modern computerized sound system, CCTV system as also LCD TVs have been provided in the Assembly Hall, galleries, CM’s room, Speaker’s room, Deputy Speaker’s room and Parliamentary Affairs Minister’s room. Both the Committee Rooms have been completely refurbished.

(iii) Entire flooring of the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat has been changed.

(iv) Vidhan Sabha supports a new sitting arrangement, a new sound system and special arrangement for VIP/visitor/officer’s galleries.

(v) A combination of material like Gypsum, armstrong and wooden false ceiling have been provided in the rooms and corridors.

(vi) A new fire alarm system, EPABX, LAN system and digital clocks have been provided.

(vii) Modern furniture and wall mounted storage space has been provided in all the rooms, press lounge/gallery, library etc.

(viii) Press gallery has been completely refurbished and all the modern amenities including separate press rooms as also connectivity have been provided.

(ix) A separate member’s area has been carved out at the ground floor close to the canteen. Entire canteen has been renovated and all the modern amenities provided.

(x) Library has been rebuilt with modern storage space, filing mechanism etc. Computers along with connectivity has been provided in the library. A separate reading room for members has been carved out. Next on agenda is digitization of library records.
