NATIONAL HIGHWAY AUTHORITY PROJECTS – CREATION OF NEW MILESTONES OF PROGRESS.

At the time of constitution of Haryana on Ist November, 1966; State had only five National Highways with a length of 655.26 KMs. Presently, total number of National Highways in Haryana has increased to 14 with a total length of 1457 KMs.

During INLD regime in Haryana and NDA regime in the country between 2000-Feb.2005, not even a kilometer of National Highway was added in State of Haryana by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).

A new vision, deep routed commitment to development of the State and quest of being partners in progress of India has ensured that from March, 2005 till July, 2011; State of Haryana has got executed NHAI projects worth Rs.6,100 crore. Besides this, projects worth Rs.4,530 are in pipeline. Details are:-

Projects Completed – Rs.1,605 crore

  • Delhi-Gurgaon (NH-8)
  • Badarpur Flyover, Faridabad (NH-2)
  • Delhi-Panipat (NH-1)
  • Panipat elevated highway (NH-1)
  • Ambala-Chandigarh (NH-22)

Projects in progress – Rs.4495 crore

Panipat-Ambala-Jalandhar (NH-1) (6-laning)

  • Total length of the project is 291 KMs, out of which 116 KMs fall in Haryana.
  • Total project cost is Rs.2747 crore.
  • Total investment in Haryana is Rs.11 crore.
  • Date of commencement/appointed date : 11th May, 2009.
  • Expected date of completion : 31st March, 2012.
  • 28 flyovers shall be constructed in Haryana portion alone.

Gurgaon-Kotputli-Jaipur (NH-8) (6-laning)

  • Total length of the project is 225.60 KMs, out of which 93 KMs fall in Haryana.
  • Total project cost is Rs.1895 crore.
  • Cost of Haryana portion is Rs.530 crore.
  • Date of commencement is 3rd April, 2009.
  • Likely date of completion is June, 2012.

Delhi-Palwal-Agra (NH-2) (6-laning)

  • Total length of the project is 179.50 KMs, out of which 73.3 KMs fall in Haryana.
  • Total project cost is Rs.2000 crore.
  • Cost of Haryana portion is Rs.800 crore.
  • Date of commencement is October, 2011.
  • Period of construction is 2 1/2 years.

Delhi-Rohtak (NH-10) (4/6-laning)

  • Total length of the project is 63.49 KMs.
  • Total project cost is Rs.486 crore.
  • Date of commencement is 3rd May, 2008.
  • Likely date of completion is 31st December, 2011.

Zirakpur-Kalka-Parwanoo (NH-22) (4-laning)

  • Total length of the project is 28.69 KMs including by-passes of cities of Pinjore, Kalka and Parwanoo.
  • Total project cost is Rs.295 crore.
  • Date of commencement is Ist March, 2008.
  • Likely date of completion is 31st December, 2011.

Rohtak-Gohana-Panipat (NH-71A) (4-laning)

  • Total length of the project is 80.75 KMs.
  • Total project cost is Rs.807 crore.
  • Project includes by-passes of Rohtak, Brahmanwas, Jassia-Ghilour-Rukhi, Mahra, Gohana and Panipat City.
  • Projects includes 3-Railway Over Bridges, 4-Flyovers and 15-Under Passes.
  • Date of commencement is 18th April, 2011.
  • Period of construction is 14th October, 2013.

Rohtak-Jhajjar-Bawal (NH-71) (4-laning)

  • Total length of the project is 83.65 KMs.
  • Total project cost is Rs.650 crore.
  • Scope of project includes by-passes of Village Dighal, Village Gudha, Jhajjar City, Village Silani, Village Dadanpur, Village Gangeycha and Rewari City.
  • Project includes construction of 3 No.Railway Over Bridges, 1 No. Flyover, 8 No. Vehicular Under Passes and 1 No. Major Bridge.
  • Date of commencement is May, 2011.
  • Date of completion is 4th November, 2013.

Projects in pipeline – Rs.4530 crore

  • 4/6-laning of NH-10 Rohtak-Hisar Section.
  • Eastern Peripheral Expressway (Haryana portion).
  • 4-laning of NH-71 Jind-Rohtak Section.
  • 4-laning of NH-65 Ambala-Kaithal Section.
  • 4-laning of NH-73 Panchkula-Saha-Yamuna Nagar-UP.
  • 6-laning of Bridge on NH-1 in Rasoi.
  • Flyover on NH-1 at junction in Bahalgarh.
