POWER – EMPOWER RURAL AREAS – ENSURING SUPPLY THROUGH SEGREGATION OF FEEDERS

Rural areas have traditionally suffered on account of erratic power supply, low voltage and frequent power cuts. Due to non-availability of sufficient power, restricted hours power supply is allowed to agriculture sector, resulting into restricted hours power supply to domestic rural consumers also.

An ambitious program to segregate rural domestic and rural agriculture feeders is being undertaken. There are a total of 1,258 rural feeders in Haryana (704 feeders for 3,483 villages in UHBVN and 755 feeders for 3,220 villages in DHBVN). Total cost of segregation would be Rs.528.11 crore.

On segregation of feeders, electricity companies will be able to ensure uninterrupted power supply of 10-15 hours to villages in Haryana.
