QUALITY AND RELIABLE POWER – STRENGETHENING TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM


In three years of Congress rule i.e. March, 2005 uptill January, 2008; Electricity Utilties have constructed 68 new substations, augmented 182 existing substations and erected 1137.737 Kms of transmission lines with a total investment of Rs.538.57 crores as per following details:-

A comprehensive program to develop and reinforce the transmission and distribution infrastructure for providing quality and reliable power supply to the consumers was formulated. It has resulted in construction of 273 new Sub Stations, Augmentation of 487 existing Sub Stations and erection of 3862.086 KMs of transmission lines with an investment of Rs.3072.38 crore from March 2005 till July, 2011 (after including the details given in chart above). Same is described below:
